Is there such a thing asan outdoor escape game forchildren? We’ve often been asked about it. Now it’s here, our new outdoor escape room: children aged between 6 and 9 can now also embark on an outdoor escape adventure – with the game from our cooperation partner CityVenture.
“Monster in the City” is running incredibly successfully in over 20 German cities. We tested it and were simply thrilled. That’s why we’re now bringing this outstanding outdoor escape game for children to Hamburg.
And the location couldn’t be better: Lohsepark, the green lung of Hafencity, is only 500 meters away from us. In addition to the playground, swings and trampolines, there are also great tasks to solve that will make children’s hearts beat faster. So dear parents! You have to try Monster in the City – the outdoor escape game for children. It’s terrific!
The funny story
Where are the missing monsters?
Professor Proof has been researching the monsters in our city for a long time. He has discovered that they live everywhere in Hamburg – hidden from humanity. The creatures have different abilities and functions. He uses a machine (on the tablet) to show the children how to make them visible.
But then a mishap occurs. Professor Proof is sucked into the machine! Now it’s up to the children to find the monsters and save the professor. Get your children together – we need the best little investigators we can get!

Outdoor Escape Game: children learn along the way
The guys and girls from CityVenture worked with educators and child psychologists on this outdoor escape game for children. The aim was to impart knowledge to the children in a subtle way in a playful environment.
The exciting story: the city monsters have disappeared and need to be recaptured. To do this, they have to solve puzzles and complete tasks.
Did you know that little trolls live in traffic lights? We didn’t know that. The children catch them again with a quiz about traffic rules. When can you cross the road? Do cyclists have to dismount?
Of course, not all questions have to be answered correctly. Don’t worry: in this game, there is only a sense of achievement. A great deal of emphasis was placed on this in the game design. Once the quiz is over, players scan the monster in their expedition book with their tablet and it comes to life in augmented reality, for example a troll in every lamp. It looks really cute!

The kids will love it
The children learn how to use a tablet computer in a very playful way. There is a lot to discover. The monster researchers have to answer questions on the tablet quiz or sort animal noises, for example. And when a puzzle has been successfully mastered, the children can bring the monster of the respective station to life in augmented reality in the monster book. This can give you that Pokemon feeling.
But there is also a nice analog gimmick integrated, which is the absolute highlight of the tour. The children have to fish water out of the canal with a scoop and pour it into a test tube with powder, which immediately changes color. The solution: the children have to match the color using a table and enter it on the tablet.

The most important questions about the Illuminati Escape Room Outdoor Hamburg
An ordinary escape room would certainly not be so cool with other participants. But we are not ordinary! First of all, the playing area is gigantic with lots of room changes. There is so much space everywhere that nobody stands on each other’s feet. The puzzles are very much geared towards communication. Many tasks can only be completed as a team. And then there’s the actor, whose role ensures that strangers become a team. It took us years to change the classic escape room so that strangers can play together. The result was 1st place in the ADAC Tourism Award. It was precisely this component that convinced the jury. So what are you waiting for?
Children aged 12 and over can play in an exclusive slot. But your kids shouldn’t be scaredy-cats. It will be dark, foggy and loud. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by at least one adult.
We strongly advise against it! The rooms are too poorly lit for both the action and the scary fare. You won’t have any fun there.
Cancellation is generally not possible as these are appointment bookings. Should we not be able to provide our services due to a forced closure, cancellation is of course possible. A booking can therefore not expire. So you don’t need to worry at all.
With the introduction of the 2G+ regulation, this does not entitle you to cancel. We provide information about this in various places on our website and would not be able to absorb this economically. We ask for your indulgence. So think carefully about whether you want to visit us under 2G + (test certificate) or 2G++ (test certificate + mask requirement).

If you have booked an exclusive slot, you can simply bring up to 10 people with you without having to register them separately. For a mixed slot, we need a separate late registration by e-mail or telephone to check availability.
Our guests classify the puzzles as easy to moderately difficult. We are already working on making the first puzzles more difficult, but that will take time.
We advise professional escapers with more than 20 rooms played not to visit. Experience has shown us that you are not challenged enough. Our focus is on entertainment, fun and communication. Puzzle freaks do not (yet) get their money’s worth.
Would you like to play alone, but can’t get the six people together? You can also master ChainSaw with fewer people without any problems. However, you will have to pay extra for the exclusivity. With 2-5 people you still have to pay for 6 people. This is the minimum (for economic reasons) for the game.
